The department of Commerce started in the year 2012 for offering general course under the University of Calcutta. The department is conducting Choice Based Credit System from 2018-19 Academic Session. The department is run by two Guest Lecturers. Modern tools of learning are used regularly in the classroom and study materials like books, notes are provided to improve the knowledge of the students. The faculty members of the department are very cooperative, dedicated and friendly to their students. As a result many students opt for this subject in their combination. Along with regular pedagogical means, the department organizes quiz competitions, tutorials to assist both the advanced learners and the slow ones. Teacher student relationship is very good and healthy of this department. The department has a well-stocked library that caters to both the immediate examination needs as well as furthering academic perusal.
